Farewell garage raisng

The night before Kim and Mary left for Vanuatu, Kim decided the best way to spend time as a family was an old fashioned "barn-raising" or in this case step one of a garage for Jeff and Marianne.
It was great to spend time together doing something productive.  Everyone helped.  The boys worked on setting the studs and attaching the plywood.
Here they are, hard at work

My job was to paint the outside of the wall to help protect it until the siding goes on.
Chase helped me for about five, maybe 10 minutes.  Toward the end, I'll admit I wouldn't let anyone help.  I had started the project and I wanted to finish it.  Mary and Marianne cooked us all a nice dinner.
Here's a shot with all the grands, except Tyler, who is on a mission.

and here are all of us fabulous adults.  We will miss Kim and Mary!

Ok. I had to enlarge that last photo to make sure you weren't wearing some kind of Indian headpiece with one feather...yeah. I'm weird.
That looks like a GREAT project! And everyone got in on the fun. Those are the kinds of things that build great memories.
You don't look particularly excited about the painting business in the photo, but sounds like you enjoyed it:0)

Vanuatu? How cool is that.
Super trooper for painting that whole thing!!

I'd like an old fashioned "barn raising"... in the form of a deck.
Since I"m not serving a mission I'm very unlikely to get one.
