Fall

This fall we've had a few projects we've been working on. Mike took some days off and we got quite a bit done. We generally have a lot of neighborhood kids here (my neighbor says we are the kool-aid house) and one thing I hate is when 15 dirty kids come in the house for a drink. Since we needed to replace the hose bib in our garden anyway, my sweet husband also spent a day putting in this drinking fountain. I still need to paint it, but I hope it will be great. We also had this shed built and spent a day painting it, plus building some shelves and transferring a lot of stuff from the garage to the shed. I think we'll love this. Last week our ward had their annual Halloween carnival. Connor and the deacons were in charge of the spook alley. He was so excited. He got to be a mummy in a coffin that sat up to scare people. The kids all dressed up that night, but Chase is the only one I got a picture of. I'll get the rest on Halloween. I don't think Chase will wear this whole get-up again on Halloween, because it was hard for him to walk. It' s supposed to be Frank carrying the mad scientist. The girls had crazy hair day at school last Friday. This is what they chose. We also went on our annual trip to the Pumpkin Walk. It's always entertaining. The theme this year was something about commercials from the past. Here's each of the kids with one of their favorites. Chase liked this Band-aid one because of the bare bum. Katie liked the California raisins. This is Kenna with part of Where the Wild Things Are. Connor with the Fruit-of the Loom guys. Not really his favorite, but I needed a picture of him and we thought this was funny. This garden one was my favorite, because it was so creative.

WoW! That's a great post. Things are never still for a moment at your house eh? I think the drinking fountain is fantastic. It will be disconnected to prevent freezing for winter I assume.
That pumpkin trip looks REALLY fun! No wonder you all love it. I would have had a hard time choosing a favorite too I think.
The kids look smashing in their wild hair and crazy costumes.
Good times :0)

Oh, Thank you for sharing more real fall!
Those are some amazing yards... these people go all out!

I miss having a place and reason to dress up for halloween, so it is great to see all of your kids getting in the spirit. Can't wait to see the actual trick or treat duds.
Is Connor getting to the "too old" stage yet?

Love seeing this post. Makes me smile.. and of course get teary, but that is a permanent condition these days.

You are never too old to dress up for Halloween! I love working at the school so I have a reason to dress up--course I did it when I worked at the ad agency too! That pumpkin thing is totally fun. No wonder you do it every year! With all the "pumpkin farms" up here you'd think people would do something fun like that but they don't. I'd go see that every year too!
The drinking fountain is a great idea! What a clever husband you have.

How cute. I am so jealous of the drinking fountain. That was a great idea.

The pictures of your kids are wonderful. I wish they did something cool like that around here. Love it.

Lots of cute pics of the family & projects! The water fountain is a way good idea!!!! I feel your pain on the jean thing. I did just find some cute ones at Downeast, they started carrying their own brand of denim and they were pretty cute, had the fun detailing and were about $50.
