July

This has been a crazy, bitter sweet week. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I helped my good friend Camille move to Rexburg. The whole time I was thinking how ironic it was that I was doing all I could to help her, while wishing she didn't have to go. I'm so grateful for the friendship I have had with Camille and her family. I feel a little like I just lost my right arm and half of my family. Kenna and her daughter Gracie, have been buddies pretty much since birth. They played together almost every day and are so alike it's almost scary. David and Chase were also good friends and I had her daughter Rachel in YW. They were just one of those families that are so kind everyone in the neighborhood was sad to see them go. However, BJ did get his dream job at BYU-Idaho and he is an awesome teacher so I'm glad for them too. We will miss them so much, but are determined to still see them. Friday was Mike's 40th birthday. I made 200 suckers that said 40 sucks and had various pictures of Mike from his childhood. The tellers at the bank handed them out all day. Here's a picture, but I don't know if you can see it very well. His CSM also totally decked out the bank with balloons and streamers. Mike was a good sport about it, even though he really doesn't like to be the center of attention. We went to dinner and a movie that night and yesterday had a bar-be-que with Jeff, Marianne, Jon, Tammie and their families plus some of our neighborhood friends. It was fun. Connor was at scout camp all week. He had a blast, but we were happy to have him come home. He did his horsemanship merit badge and got to go horseback riding every day. He really liked it and wasn't sore at all. Mike and I went to our first opera this week, Carmen. I'm not sure I love it, but I liked it and the music was incredible. There was so much talent involved. There has also been alot of swimming going on and Connor, Mike and I worked together to build this awesome go-cart from the Dangerous Book for Boys. And dangerous it is. Since we live on a hill, we need to figure out a way to rig a brake.
