Some Sewing

I've been good friends with my sewing machine lately and it's soooo much fun.  I've broken into the world of quilting a little bit.  It's harder than I thought, all that precision cutting and perfection.  I've just done some small projects and I'm still pretty frustrated when everything doesn't turn out square, but you have to start somewhere. so far, I've done this pillow and a table runner for my mom and Mike's mom.  I didn't take pictures of the table runners, darn it.  I am also working  on a runner for me.

Last Saturday, however, I saw a skirt online that I had to try for Kenna.  I thought is was so cute and it was made from a t-shirt.  This is how it turned out.
I decided to add some flowers to a white t-shirt to go with it.
I think it turned out pretty well and Kennadee seems to like it too!  It's a good thing I have her to sew for.  If you want to see the original.  it's here http://lukeandhailiegirl.blogspot.com/2010/06/jcrew-diy-skirt.html.  Enjoy

A conversation with Katie

Katie:  Mom, someone at the ski resort asked me today if you were there.  She said I looked just like you.  I'm sick of hearing that.
Me:  I'm sorry you're tired of hearing that.  Lots of people see to think you look like me.
Katie:  It's ok, Mom.  I think you're beautiful.  (Oh, how sweet)
Me:  Thank you.  I think you are more beautiful.
Katie:  That's just because you are getting old, Mom.  (Sigh, back to reality)

Hello again

It's been forever, and we haven't been busy at all.  I have wanted to get to this, kind-of, but today I think it's going to be a short list of many happenings.  First of all, Mike has changed jobs.  He is still with Zions, but not managing.  His position is call Executive Banking.  He works with a certain list of clients.  So far, so good.  I have been doing some substituting and was also called to the Stake YW Presidency, 1st counselor.  Shocking, I know.  Other that that it's been:  family pictures, tell me which you like best
