So on Thursday, luckily after Halloween, I was up at the church playing volleyball. I went up for a very sweet block ( and I did block it), but when I came down someone else's foot was where it was not supposed to be. My night of ball was ended and I went home with a very sore ankle. I iced it and told myself it wasn't so bad. Surely I would be fine in the morning and able to exercise. Not so. In the morning, my ankle was very swollen. I spent all day Friday on ice and elevated (except for going to Chase's parent teacher conference and Connor's piano recital). I should have been updating this blog, but I read a book instead. Maybe this is a sign that I'm getting to old to play volleyball? Noooo way. Anyway I wanted to post these pics my Dad took of the kids while we were in Macky last weekend. I think they turned out great. We had a fun weekend. The boys went up in the morning and worked with Dad. I think they sorted nails or something. In the afternoon there were four-wheeler rides and a craft thing at the movie theater for Halloween. My
boys shot their bows in the backyard and while I and the three younger kids were at the theater, Dad took Connor up for his first time shooting the twenty-two. We also saw the Legen
d of Sleepy Hollow at the theater and played Killer Bunnies with Mom, Dad and Cerese (go ahead and ask Cerese, she loves this game :) ). Any way it was quite a weekend. We also went to church and saw Grandma on Sunday, but Grandpa was out home-teaching so we missed him. Here some of the pics.

Whew, that's a lot of pictures. I'm not a proud mom or anything, but those sure are some great kids, huh.

Always good to see a little bit of Mackay! You're kids a sweet and cute. The pictures are all great! I especially like the whole family one. Your dad did a great job. It sounds like the kids had lots of fun. What's not to like about all those manly/crafty activities in Mackay? Glad you got to see grandma. I know she enjoys the visits!
Oh sooo sorry about your ankle. I'm the queen of the rolled ankle. (the left one if you are interested) Ever since I did exactly what you did as a setter in High school volley ball I have had trouble with that ankle. The last time i rolled it was just last year. Had to have a brace and everything. Bit of advice from my friend Monica (a physical therapist) You can ice and heat for months and it still helps. Also try to walk on the foot normally (not keeping it super stiff or sideways which is what I do) as soon as possible.
It was great to see you all last weekend! In spite of "killer Bunnies" I have resigned myself to the game, but still don't quite get the huge appeal! It is funny to watch the kids get into it though.

Wow! Gordon is getting to be quite the professional photographer! Those are great photos, and it doesn't hurt that he had great looking models to work with.
Glad to see the boys carrying on the manly pursuits. I'm sorry to hear about the ankle. I have a similar story - but the first major twist was not on the volleyball court - cause you know they didn't HAVE volleyball for girls when I was in school - It was on the mission walking or dirt roads. It still rolls on me even when there is nothing but smooth surfaces. Hope it heals quickly.
