Guess who's 12!

This little cutie.  Forgive me all the pictures, but after all it is my blog and I couldn't help myself.  Makes me wish I would do something with them because when I actually take time to look it's so fun.

 Happy Birthday!  She didn't get many presents because her main gift was a new bike which we gave her in June, so she could use it.

 We rented the pool for an hour and she swam with these cute friends.  What a bunch of fun girls.

 We came back and Mike made about 10 malts.  What a great Dad.  He also threw in some popcorn.

 Birthday gifts and then they went outside and played night games.  Sure love my spunky little girl.

New Family Pictures

We had these taken in June and I love so many that it was hard to choose.  Our neighbor Kori, took them for us.  She is headed off to BYU Hawaii this week.  We will miss her.  I got the super hero idea from Con's Sadie Hawkins shirt, because he had so much fun with it.  Also, my boys love super hero movies, so I thought why not just do something fun.  Here's too many of my favorites.  The favorite, more serious picture of each kiddo is on the side of the blog. 

Back to school

So I figured today might be a good time to try and repent of my blog slacker ways.  First day of school, new starts and all.  Kate started 6th grade at the middle school today.  She was probably the most nervous, changing classes, lockers, and her first time riding the bus.  She leaves the house first at 6:50

 Mike got in the picture with all of the kids, but I only posted him in this one.  Kate's first day shirt, which you can't see very well, is beachy to reflect her love of Hawaii.  She still talks about that trip all the time.

 Chase leaves the house next at 7:15.  He starts 9th this year, a Freshmen.  He is so excited to see all his friends.

 He told me I had to get a shot with his buddy Seth, who always comes to pick him up.  His first day shirt is Charlie Brown, who, he informed me is cool.  Mickey Mouse is not.  Apparently, I know nothing about that.

 Connor leaves next, but I'm saving him for last.  Kenna picked her first day outfit with much care.  I was pretty flattered because I made that skirt for her.  She starts 4th grade today.

Ahhh Connor.  My last first day of school picture of him.  I had to put it up with his first, first day of school pict.  Here's to a good Senior year.

 
This is the crew of hooligans that walked to school with Con.  They weren't that happy about getting their picture taken, but I didn't really care.  Have a great year everyone.

It's all about Connor

 It's been a fun and busy couple of months for Connor.  Swim started up in November.  He had about a meet a week.  It was a great season for him, despite getting pretty nervous before each swim.  One meet, he had to run throw up right before he started.
                                    

Despite that, he found he had a talent for butterfly he didn't know he had and set some personal bests in the 50, 100, and especially 200 freestyle.  Best of all, he qualified to go to State.

 High school sports are all about the friends and Con has made some good ones. The two boys in this photo, Curtis and Anzl are good friends of his and Seniors.  He will miss them next year.

 Early in January, Connor got asked to the Sweethearts Dance.  The door bell rang and he found this on our doorstep.

He opened it to find all this shredded paper.

Luckily, she left a clue that we needed to find the blue.  It still took forever.  After we found the letters, we had a hard time figuring out her name.  It's surprising how many names you can make. 

 If she hadn't sent him a friend request on Facebook, we might still be looking.  Connor didn't know this girl, so he was pretty nervous about the date.

 Of course, he had a good time and got to know some new people.  For the day date, they went to a gym and played basketball and volleyball and ate pizza.  She picked him back up at 4:30 for pictures and I didn't see them again until 11:30.

 I guess one of the mom's made dinner for the group and they just hung out and talked until the dance.

Last, in January Connor was chosen as student of the month at Skyview.  We got to go to a nice catered lunch and his got this sweet certificate plus an envelope of coupons for some free lunches.  I guess he was nominated by a teacher and also the faculty all votes on the nominees.  What a good kid.(More sweet swim hair)
